Psalm 5

Dear Reader,

I don’t have a lot to say on Psalm 5. The psalter versions are pretty good. Here is my translation:

“My utterances hear, Lord; understand my murmuring.

Listen to the voice of my cry, my king and my God.

For unto you I pray.

Lord, in the morning you will hear my voice.

In the morning I will recount to you and I will watch.

For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;

Evil does not sojourn with you.

The boastful do not stand before your eyes;

You hate all workers of iniquity.

You destroy those who speak a lie;

A man of blood and deceit the Lord abhors.

But as for me, in the  greatness of your faithfulness I will enter your house;

I will worship in your holy temple in your fear.

Lord, lead me in your righteousness because of my enemies;

Make straight before me your path.

Because there is no uprightness in their mouth; their insides [are] destruction;

An open grace [is] their throat, [with] their tongue they flatter.

Hold them guilty, God. May they fall from their [own] devices;

In the greatness of their transgressions cut them off for they rebelled against you.

But all who find refuge in you will rejoice; forever they will exult;

For you will enclose them and those who love your name will be glad in you.

For you will bless the righteous, Lord;

Like a shield you will surround them [with] favor.”
