Approaches to Homeschool: Update

Dear Reader,

Since my series on different approaches to homeschool is being strung out and there are other posts in between, I wanted to update you on where we are and where we are going.

The intro to the series is here. So far I have published posts on Unit Studies (and a follow-up), Unschooling, Classical Ed (and a follow-up) and a post on Charlotte Mason is coming out soon.

Still to come are posts on Thomas Jefferson Ed, Montessori, Waldorf, and perhaps a few others. There are a lot of ways to educate one’s children, aren’t there?

I have a few questions as I prepare the coming posts:

1. How does TJEd define itself relative to classical and CM? Why a new method and not one of those older two? If you use the TJEd approach, I’d love to know why and especially why you chose it relative to other similar ones.

2. Is there one main handbook for Christian classical education? Most of the Christians I know use The Well-Trained Mind, but is there something else out there that is specifically Christian?

3. Does anybody use Waldorf or Montessori all the way through high school? What resources or curricula are out there for these methods?

If you know these answer to any of these, please speak up!

Thanks

Nebby
